The Compassionate Rebel: A Valentine For The World
The Compassionate Rebel: A Valentine For the World
The coming of Valentine’s Day has a special message. It reminds us – albeit fleetingly — of the power of love and compassion as symbolized in the gifts of affection that we give to those we care deeply about.
What we need more than anything right now is a valentine for the world – a way to turn the message of the season, through example, into a lasting, universal commitment to all of humanity.
A new book published in Minneapolis may be that valentine. It is titled:
The Compassionate Rebel Revolution: Ordinary People Changing the World. It is a collection of 60 stories of ordinary people who have given the gifts of compassion through their efforts to make the world a better place to live. These “rebels” have reached out in empowering and graceful ways, transforming not only themselves but also the world around them. Their uplifting stories offer what we crave the most — messages of love and hope for now and future generations.
